For the month of August, we have 15 new catalogues under review. Aquila Books and Meridian Rare Books have combined to take us to the top of the world – Mt. Everest. Garrett Scott, Bookseller takes us to the edge of the world... of sanity, with another collection of odd works. And Lorne Bair Rare Books takes us to the edge of the political world, with works of those on the radical fringes.

Brian Cassidy Bookseller also has material outside of the mainstream, mainly counterculture material. For other works with an artistic bent, there are books as art from the Veatchs Arts of the Book. Or, there is art and architecture from Antiquariat Banzhaf. And, from the poetic arts, there is English verse from 1751-1800 from Justin Croft and Simon Beattie.

This may not be English verse, but there is all sorts of antiquarian English material offered by Samuel Gedge Ltd. Rare Books. Over the seas and across a few thousand miles of land, we have books from the American West from Old West Books. There are more western books, and a little of everything else, from Back of Beyond Books. Gene Baade Books on the West also features the American West, with much on one of its most notorious characters – not some gunslinger, but Bigfoot.

James Tait Goodrich offers a catalogue of medical antiquities. The Lawbook Exchange focuses, logically enough, on the law. The William Reese Company offers a selection of manuscripts, while James Cummins Bookseller presents a variety.
