Paris: Le Livre contemporain, 1929 4to (10 1/4 x 9 in.; 255 x 227 mm). 88 colored illustrations wood-engraved by Pierre Bouchet after Georges Barbier (13 full-page), with a suite of 7 headpieces, initials, and one full plate in color and matted, a suite of all the illustrations printed on japan, menu for the Society dinner illustrated by Barbier and signed by him in pencil bound in at the end. Full aubergine calf by N. Ralli, elaborately inlaid front and lower covers depicting a nude male and female diving toward the ocean floor strewn with coral, kelp, sting rays, jellyfish, starfish, and sea anemones within a gilt sea punched with small circular and star-shaped tools, the spine lettered gilt and inlaid with a sailboat on a gilt background, purple silk moiré doublures, gilt cornerpieces, top edge gilt. Calf tipped marbled chemise and slipcase.
