Varia opera mathematica, first edition, issue with woodcut ornament on title, and engraved headpieces on A2 and E2 as specified in the Norman catalogue (although their ordering of these variants is doubtful), 5 engraved plates and numerous woodcuts, with the 2 leaves of verse at the end (often missing) but without the portrait sometimes found (not present in the Norman copy), minor foxing and browning, from the library of the mathematician Francois Arago (1786-1853), with his signature on title and a note signed "H.S." that it was from his library, 2-line note on p.190 in French possibly in Arago's hand, late eighteenth century half red leather, gilt, slightly worn [Dibner 108; Norman 778; Grolier, Science, 30), folio, Toulouse, J.
