6 parts bound in 3 volumes, folio (416 x 293mm.), one engraved allegorical title (only, of 6), 339 double-page plates (only, of 362), showing over 500 cities, all coloured by a contemporary hand, Latin text, index leaves at end of each part, contemporary Dutch giltstamped calf, panelled with roll-tooled borders with gilt and blind fillets around a large central cartouche, the spines in compartments with gilt motifs and labels (those for volumes 2 and 3 transposed), ties, lacking 23 plates (full listing available in Book Department or on www.sothebys.com), also lacking engraved titles from parts 2-6, engraved dedication from parts 3, 4, 5 and 6, and preliminaries from parts 4 and 6, two plates inverted, spines bumped with slight loss
