On AE we work toward the integration of the various segments of book buying and selling into a single universe in which collectors and dealers can understand who has what, find each other easily and transact directly. This month we continue to tighten the links and smooth the connections. To accomplish this we have simpflied the creation of your identity file which can then be periodically updated to include your evolving show schedule and announce the issuance of new catalogues and bulletins. In this simple way you can keep the homefires burning and the lights on across the internet. The key is to be visible and we are making this easy.
For all members the keys to the kingdom are found within the My Account Status section on your AE Control Panel, the first page that comes up after signing in.
Behind the My Account Status link, in section 3 of 3, is another: Create a Listing .
Clicking on this link opens your bookseller's identity file. Complete the required fields. Submit.

Click the Preview Profile link to see how it looks. In section 3 of 3 also now have a total of four new options:
This simple action and the occasional update will identify you to collectors and the trade according to the description you have prepared. They will see you listed as participant in the book fairs you select from the drop down menu, and will see each printed catalogue you enter. Your identity file will include links for readers to contact you about your catalogues and material in your specialty.

All AE listing members' material is displayed in an open platform environment. That is, all listings appear both in AE's Books for Sale and across the internet in the search results of major search engines. A serious collector may identify an item on AE, a grandson find their great grandfather's World War I account on Google. Both are potential buyers who, when they click to inquire or purchase, directly contact the seller. AE charges no commissions.
Listing members, as soon as inventory is accessible on the site, also have the option to select material each month from stock to include in the AE Comet where, each month, we offer annual bibles on subjects suggested by collectors. The focus of the next issue is announced one month ahead.
