Kavanagh Books is located in Palmyra NY, best known as Queen of Erie Canal Towns and the birthplace of Mormonism. We have an inventory of approximately 20,000 volumes. Our inventory includes a selection of general used books in all subject areas as well as rare first editions and some ephemera. We stock newly published titles relating to upstate New York. We also carry gifts and accesssories for book lovers. Open 10 am - 6 pm Weekdays, 12-5 pm Saturdays, and Sunday by chance or appointment.

We purchase books on local upstate NY history- especially books on the Erie Canal, Spiritualism, Mormonism, and the Underground Railroad. At this time we are also purchasing some literature, some philosophy, some military history, and certain childrens books. Please call to make an appointment.
